By the light of an autumn sun setting, and an autumn moon rising, to the orchestral accompaniment of a wind whispering mad and unknowable secrets to all that listen, in the manner of witches that wander, or in the form of fae that fly, and in this, the month of all hallows' eve, we will be reading All Hallows' Eve, by Charles Williams.
Williams was a semi-popular author in his own time, now mostly forgotten, though his legacy lives strong through the friends and fellow authors he influenced, such as C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien (and more recently, Neil Gaiman cited him as a major inspiration, though they were not contemporaries). His work tends to deal with magical surrealism and mythology, and he is considered by many (including the mythopoeic society) to be a founding author to the genre of modern mythopoetry. He is also, a British Victorian author from the early 1900s Oxford literary movement, which means he can do very little wrong as far as I'm concerned, and the book is probably amazing (though I have yet to read anything at all about it).
