The Iron Heel, by Jack London

For our next (Dec) meeting, we will be discussing The Iron Heel, by Jack London, which is about an authoritarian takeover of the United States, as envisioned in 1908. The fact that we've been speculating about the imminent authoritarian takeover of the US for more than a century now probably says something about the American psyche, but your guess is as good as mine what.
