This group serves as a source for members of the LGBTQ community within the DC, Maryland and Virginia areas to find fun and exciting parties, shows and events to attend.
All events are produced by local LGBTQ promoters and organizations who plan events for the LGBTQ community with a focus on creating safe spaces for all who attend.

This Meetup is affiliated with the popular Go Gay DC - Metro DC's Inclusive LGBTQ+ Community. You are welcome to join that as well to stay in the know. We will gather for an extended happy hour at the Silver Diner Ballston in Arlington, Virginia! This exciting venue offers a vibrant atmosphere and a happy hour menu. There's something for everyone to enjoy.

This LGBTQ+ community-wide social provides everyone a chance to mingle, socialize and share community spirit in a fun setting. All your friends are welcome. Fabulous people from all over the world are expected. It's FREE to attend. Casual attire is fine; this will be a relaxing and fun time. Simply pay for drinks using your own credit card or cash; there is no group tab. This is a 21+ establishment, so bring your ID with you. You are welcome regardless of where you live. Enjoy a delicious brunch and meet LGBTQ+ folk. Make meaningful new connections. The event is free to attend; you simply pay for whatever you order on your own on separate credit card; there's no group tab to worry about.
Name tags will be provided. About 10 LGBTQ+ folk are expected.

Metro Directions: Be eco-friendly. Metro rides are now capped at only $2.50 on weekends, regardless of distance traveled. Crystal City Metro station on the Yellow/Blue lines is the closest Metro stop. When you arrive, go out the station, walk towards your left to 18th Street and then veer right and walk under the Route 1 overpass to Eads St. Turn left and walk to 23rd Street. Turn right. Freddie's is up 23rd Street just a block. Just look for the rainbow flags on the right-hand side of the street! The venue phone number is (703) 685-0555 in case you get lost.
Parking is usually available nearby on the residential side streets.
Freddie's was voted the Best Virginia Bar by Washington Blade readers. Don't like a smoky bar? You are covered: Freddie's is a smoke-free establishment. (Ashtrays are provided outside the back of the building if smoking is 'your thing').

You are welcome regardless of where you live. Guests from DC, Maryland, and Virginia often attend. While there is no subway stop nearby, the local bus system is also very reliable and Shirlington is a very busy transit hub. Use Metro Trip Planner.
Free garage parking is easy to find. Four of Shirlington’s garages share their parking so that the spaces available to office workers during the day are available for public parking on evenings and weekends. During the weekdays there are 879 public parking spaces and on evenings and weekends there are 2,446 public parking spaces. See the map.
