Shoot Smarter, Edit Cleaner: From Capture to Final Image

A live, practical workshop on shooting cleaner files and making simple edits that actually work. We’ll focus on practical shooting decisions (exposure, focus, light direction) only where they directly affect the edit.

Only a few attendee images will be selected for live critique.

I’ll also explain what could have been done in-camera to make the edit easier — exposure, focus, and simple shooting choices that prevent common editing problems.

This is a practical session designed for photographers who want better results without over-editing or trendy effects.

• How to clean up images without making them look “edited”
• Simple adjustments that bring attention back to the subject
• Fixing exposure, color, and contrast from bad lighting
• How to decide what an image needs — and what to leave alone
• Common mistakes that make photos look muddy or overprocessed
• How shooting choices affect how far an image can be pushed in editing
• Simple in-camera decisions that reduce noise, softness, and muddy files

This is NOT:

• Presets or one-click fixes
• Trendy or stylized editing
• Heavy Photoshop composites

Most “editing problems” actually start at capture — I’ll show you how to spot them instantly.

### Live Editing + Image Critique

I’ll demonstrate edits in real time and select a few attendee-submitted images to review live.

For selected images, I’ll:

• explain what’s working
• show what I’d change and why
• make edits step-by-step so everyone can follow along

The critiques are chosen to highlight fixes that apply to many photographers, not just one image. I will share a link to a dropbox file you can upload your submission in the group chat.
Submitting an image does not guarantee it will be reviewed live.
