Let's kick off this group, and this summer, with a day trip to the beautiful historic town of Harpers Ferry, WV, at the intersection of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. Exact itinerary TBD, feel free to pitch ideas in the comments, but some must-sees are the site of abolitionist John Brow's last stand, and the iconic Maryland Heights trail overlook from which you can see the whole town and the borders of MD, WV, and VA. There are also lots of smaller museums/landmarks to explore around town. There is an excellent variety of places to stop, get lunch, and cool off too.
Anyone interested in carpooling please feel free to share where you're coming from and if you need a ride/how many passengers you can take.
Things to bring:
This should be a pretty casual trip; just yourself, and some water since we'll be out in the June sun.
