Hack the Hub

The snow is melting, spring is waking up, and our base in Reichenau an der Rax is coming back to life.

Before the hiking season really kicks off, we’re doing a spring reset at commons hub — the guesthouse and community space some of you already know as the home base behind DnD Hikes. Since many people here joined for the hikes rather than the Hub itself, this is a nice chance to actually see the place, spend time together, and help shape the space future events can grow from.

From March 27 to April 7, we’re opening the Hub for Hack the Hub: a collaborative work-and-hang stay in the Austrian Alps. The idea is simple: 4 hours of active help per day in exchange for food and a bed.

There’ll be all kinds of hands-on projects, especially around the garden and outdoor spaces, plus smaller practical improvements around the house. We want to focus on things that are actually finishable, so you get that satisfying feeling of having built, repaired, or transformed something real.

And since this is going out via DnD Hikes: if a nice little gamer crew comes together, we can absolutely also do a session, go on a hike, and/or use the time to cook up future DnD Hikes adventures together.
You can join for a few days or longer — whatever fits.

The Hub is about 1 hour by train from Vienna, and we can pick you up at Payerbach-Reichenau station.
