[Campaign: Session 0] Introducing Vallombra

Length: It is the start of a new campaign, the length is going to be decided; ideally the whole year, but everyone should feel welcome to participate as long as the wish

Welcome to Vallombra, a mountainous region once rich thanks to the commerce between the dwarven holds and the southern realms and defended by valorous Paladins. Things however have changed dramatically when the mountain fortresses have closed their gates to defend from an unknown assaulter, and the paladins from the south are all disappeared in a distant crusade.

Now people from the valleys must defend their homes from increasingly aggressive monsters, and some whisper a greater evil is plotting in the shadows…

All knowledge levels of D&D are welcome, for the very first level 0 session we will meet each other, discuss the type of characters we want to play, their motivations and their relationship with the people of the valleys.

We will also discuss more mundane, organization-related topics (frequency of sessions, length, hour and days… ), and set up the general rules.

Prep:

It is not necessary to bring an already made character, but an idea of what you want to play could be useful. Any race and class are available, it is strongly suggested to think of a background that could fit for an isolated valley, where adventurers are not only rare, but also a recent necessity.

(I recommend using D&DBeyond as their free character creation program is quick and easy to use)

What do I need to bring ?

- (Optional )Your character sheet printed or a digital version of it (tablet, D&D Beyond ...)

- Something to write with / on

- Your best spirit obviously !

Please note: Even for this session zero you should have chosen and know your character (perks, small background info, abilities) before the session. We may change a bit the character to better adapt to the group.
If you have any questions, remember to ask them to your DM ASAP before the session. Ravenloft elements are encouraged but not mandatory.

This event is open to beginners but is not an intro to D&D and you will have to know the general rules on how to play, your DM will be able to help you with specific rules if needed during the session.
