Session 0:

Roshar is on the cusp of upheaval. Unknown to most, the Everstorm nears, while dangerous forces grapple for power. As conflict rises between Odium's forces and the Knights Radiant, an important Blade is lost in the calm before the storm - or is it?

This session will involve expectations, character creation (through a level 0 adventure).

I only have 4 players (intentionally) so I'm hoping/expecting that people prioritize this game for this night as losing 1-2 players is going to make the game impossible to play.

You should have all gotten through the first book of Stormlight Archive by this point, and read/skimmed the rules to get a feel for them. I don't expect any sort of game expertise as this is a new system and we're all learning but I'm hoping people are invested and willing to put in some effort to learn the system.

You will be starting with a blank character sheet. Feel free to have a character concept in mind or not (the session 0 can help if you dont have any idea what you want).

Some things I expect:
You're not a DND character lost in Roshar. You're native to Roshar. Don't try to port a concept from another RPG into this game.

You're not an existing character from the books. You might know of certain characters from the book but you don't have any sort of relationship with them. Don't make a stand in character for someone in the book. For example don't make a scholar-surgeon/wind runner who was a slave/bridgeman. Dont make an Agent-Spy/Lightweaver who likes to draw..oh i mean paint..that's so much different!!!

You're welcome to be either Human or Singer/Listener ancestry. Non-human is going to have problems early on because at the start of the book every Singer/Listener is either a slave or an enemy.

Slavery: This is a thing. I don't want to explore players owning slaves but I'm not going to gloss over the fact that this is part of the world. If slavery existing in the world is a problem then you should bail now.

Racism: This is a thing. I don't expect players to be racist assholes but you should expect that this exists in the world. If you're playing Singler/Listener in a warcamp and you're acting autonomously you should expect soldiers to assume you're Parshendi and act accordingly.

Gender based Roles: This is a thing. I don't expect players to be sexist assholes but you should realize that this exist in parts of the world. Particularily the war camps where you will spend part of the campaign. You're welcome to make a gender-bending character but realize that an Alethi man who can read is going to be treated as a freak, or a woman not wearing a safe-hand is going to be thought of as scandalous.
