Details
🔥 DO IT AFRAID: FALL MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE 🍁
October 16–18, 2026 | Nantahala Gorge, NC
Hike • Glamp • Rope Flow • Build a Fire • Connect
Come for ONE night or stay for TWO.
Do It Afraid is about trying something new—something you've always wanted to try—challenging yourself a little, having fun and maybe rediscovering a part of yourself along the way.
And we're going to one of my favorite places on EARTH! I would be honored for you to join me. ❤️
Minimum age: 18 years.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU STOPPED WAITING UNTIL YOU FELT READY?
Come spend a fall weekend in the Nantahala Mountains challenging yourself, learning new outdoor skills, meeting new people—and having a ridiculous amount of fun along the way.
We're going during one of the most beautiful fall-color windows in Western North Carolina and staying at Gorgeous Stays in the Nantahala Gorge.
Come with friends or COME ALONE. You don't need to know anyone.
That's kind of the point of Do It Afraid. 🔥
PLEASE READ THE FULL EVENT DESCRIPTION BEFORE REGISTERING, especially the hiking requirements, lodging choices and reservation policy.
🍁 THE WEEKEND
🔥 FRIDAY — ARRIVE + CONNECT
Please arrive by 4:00 PM.
Settle in, get comfortable and meet everyone.
🍽️ 5:00 PM — DINNER AT BIG WESSER/NOC
We'll have dinner together along the river at NOC.
Afterward, we'll head back to camp for a fire, stories, laughter and our first Campfire Conversation.
🥾 SATURDAY — THE "DO IT AFRAID" CHALLENGE...LET'S GO!!!
8:30 AM — TRAIL DEPARTURE
We'll head out for an approximately 8-mile Appalachian Trail hike from Tellico Gap to NOC.
This is our longer, challenging hike. Expect elevation and beautiful fall scenery.
We're not racing. We're doing it together. ❤️
〰️ ROPE FLOW
After some recovery time, we'll learn Rope Flow.
It's a fun movement practice that connects your shoulders, core, coordination and timing and gets your whole body moving together.
Never tried it? PERFECT!
🪓🔥 BUILD YOUR OWN FIRE
You'll learn how to:
🪓 Safely chop and split wood
🌲 Make your own kindling
🔥 Build a tinder nest
✨ Use a ferro rod/fire steel to create a spark
🔥 Turn that spark into a sustainable fire
Saturday night, bring something to throw on the grill or cook around the campfire.
We'll eat around the fire WE BUILT and share stories.
🔥 CAMPFIRE CONVERSATIONS
Friday and Saturday evenings, we'll gather around the fire for food, stories and some real conversation.
What have you always wanted to try but haven't?
When do you feel most alive?
What did you love doing before life got so serious?
What did you learn about yourself today?
What's something fear has talked you out of?
And before we leave...
🔥 What's one thing YOU are going to DO AFRAID when you get home?
🍁 SUNDAY — THE SIMPLE HIKE
8:30 AM — TRAIL DEPARTURE
We'll head out for an easy, scenic 2–4 mile hike at Tsali or Deep Creek.

Not ready for eight miles?
THAT'S OKAY.
Join us later Saturday. Learn to build a fire. Stay the night. Join us for Sunday's easy 2–4 mile hike.
Somebody else's hard doesn't have to be yours. ❤️
