Docker Developer Workshop | In-Person & Online

Based on the tons of requests from the community, we will be organising Docker Developer Workshop for beginners. This workshop is being led by Ajeet Singh Raina, Docker Captain and Community Leader. It will be a 1-day workshop that starts in the morning at 9:00 AM and goes till 5:00 PM in the evening.

Audience Prereq:

• Participants must be well-versed with the basic Operating System concepts
• Familiarity with Linux CLI commands
• Basic GitHub commands are preferable
• You must carry your laptops to complete the workshop
• You must create their own GitHub account
• Web browsers will be used for conducting the workshop, hence no prior software needs to be installed.
• For the IoT Edge workshop, the instructor will be using his personal Edge device to demonstrate. Students can carry Raspberry Pi boxes or NVIDIA Jetson Nano ($59) devices, if available.

• Introduction to Docker Desktop
• What is Docker Hub?
• Accessing and Managing Docker containers
• Getting Started with Dockerfile
• Lab: Writing Dockerfile

• Introduction to Docker Networking
• Lab: Docker Networks
• Docker Volumes
• Lab: Docker Volumes

Section 4: (One Hour)

• Docker compose / stacks
• Swarm Stack introduction
• Lab: Installing App in Swarm

Section 5: (Two Hours)

• Docker for Python
• Docker for Spring Boot
• Docker for Node.js

Section 6: (One Hour)

• Introduction to IoT edge
• Installing Docker on IoT Edge
• Deploying Sample app on IoT
