Docker Global Hackday #2 - Washington, DC Edition

Details

Join other members of the Docker community to hack on Docker projects using the next big Docker release.

Cvent has graciously offered to host us for this full-day event! Please park on the surface lot (free) instead of the garage. Here are the directions: http://www.cvent.com/en/contact/directions-to-cvent.shtml

If you cannot participate throughout the whole day, we will aim to have a Google+ hangout running. We will update this event description with the detail on that as it finalizes.

We are looking at possibly doing local demos and judging prior to the official 9:30pm eastern cut-off, due to our time zone differences from the main San Francisco event.

Please feel free to comment on the event with your ideas or pitches to get team members! If you'd prefer to work alone that is fine, but small teams are probably most effective with this limited time frame. Great way to meet some new folks and throw ideas around.

Work on the project should not start before the hackathon, but it is a good idea to start brainstorming and forming teams prior.

Schedule:

12:00 noon Eastern - Docker Global Hackday opening

12:30 Eastern - live stream from Docker SF begins

  • brief idea pitches for anyone who is looking for teammates or a team to join

  • hack!

9:30pm - Demo time and jury selection

Connect with Docker hackers from all around the world. The official back channel for this event on IRC is #docker (https://kiwiirc.com/client/chat.freenode.net/?nick=guest%7C?#docker). Throughout the day, the Docker team and the Docker community will be on IRC helping you hack your project or answering questions about Docker. Prize will be full conference passes to DockerCon 2015!

The official hashtag for the event on Twitter is #dockerhackday (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23dockerhackday&src=typd&f=realtime). More details to come! Please email hackers@docker.com with any questions.
