Managing Data for Stateful Docker Apps at the InNevation Cntr Oct. 18 at 6:30 pm

Details

Docker members,

Over half the leading Dockerized apps like Redis, MongoDB, and WordPress are stateful. Data persistence is critical for these apps. So how to manage, protect, and recover container volume data when deploying stateful apps? Using the Docker volume plug-in with external container storage allows data to be persisted, allows per-container volume management and high-availability for stateful apps. Join this informative meetup with Gou Rao, CTO and co-founder of Portworx, where we’ll discuss:

· Best practices for managing stateful containerized applications
· Strategies for protecting data and handling hardware failures in a distributed world
· A live demo of container storage demonstrating how to manage volume snaps, clones, and replication

The presenter for this evening is Gou Rao is the CTO and co-founder of Portworx, where he and his team are bringing their experience in scaleout distributed storage to containers. They have developed a new cloud-native storage architecture that leverages modern x86 server technology and hybrid cloud deployment patterns. Gou was previously CTO of Dell’s Data Protection division and of Citrix Systems’ ASG. He was also co-founder and CTO of Ocarina Networks and of Net6, and was a key architect at Intel and Lockheed Martin. He holds a computer science bachelor’s degree from Bangalore University, a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and has over 40 patents.

Please RSVP and bring an associate and friend.
