10th Docker Switzerland User Group Meetup

We are happy to organise the 10th Docker Switzerland User Group Meetup on the 13th of Sept. 2016. The meetup will be held for the very first time in the beautiful city of Luzern.

1. 18:25 to 18:55 - Tutorial on Docker Swarm by Brian Christner, Docker Captain and working at Swisscom

2. 18:55 to 19:25 - Auto scaling and zero downtime (ZDT) for multi-tier containers topology by Bojan Jovanovic, Co-founder and Cloud Architect at innofield AG (PaaS powered by Jelastic).

3. 19:25 to 19:55 - Performance monitoring for Docker Environment by Stijn Polfliet Founder & CEO of CoScale.

20:00 onwards - food & drinks sponsored by the Java User Group Switzerland

Abstracts

1. In this lab we will:

-Deploy a Dockerized app to a single host

-Build a Docker Swarm

-Scale our application across the Swarm

-Reschedule our application after a node failure

2.The absolute majority of production environments need to be accessible to customers at any time, and the most common problems here are the processes of project re-deployment, as well as handling unexpected load growth. Usually, the redeploy is solved with the help of additional software, but their integration is rather complicated and may require extra human resources, as well as the valuable time spent for configuring these tools. In this session we’d like to talk about solutions that allow to redeploy production projects without influencing end-customers. Also we’ll describe how to automate the process of resource allocation, load balancing and traffic distribution across multiple containers within one clustered environment.

3. Introduction to Anomalie detection. How to monitor Docker - different approaches and finally a demo of CoScales solution.
