Musicmakers and Film: Discussion and networking

Details
Music and film make the perfect match but musicians and filmmakers don’t always find each other in time for the right project. At this event we will bring musicians and filmmakers together to network, and to discuss resources for independent music and the process of composing for film. Joining us are filmmakers Ian McCluskey and John Waller who regularly use original music in their films, and professional musician/composers Johnny Clay of the Dimes and Pete Bosack of Mothertapes. The first and last half hour of the event will be networking, and the panel will discuss typical gigs for licensing music in Portland, the process of composing original music for film, tips for filmmakers on how to communicate with musicians to get what you’re looking for, and other resources for showcasing original music on an independent film budget.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $16 using the code MUSIC. Tickets are $20 the day of the event. OMPA members may register for $15 with code OMPA.
