Docs In Progress screenings provide an opportunity for local and visiting documentary filmmakers to screen their unfinished films to an audience and get valuable feedback. After screening the film, a facilitator from Docs In Progress will moderate a feedback session with the audience. This honest and constructive feedback is aimed at helping the filmmaker(s) get to the next stage of completing and distributing the film. Special thanks to The Documentary Center at George Washington University for sponsoring this program.

WHAT’S SCREENING?

Foreign Puzzle (90 minute rough cut)
by Chithra Jeyaram
Foreign Puzzle is the story of a dancer, her 6-year old son, her ex-husband and her struggles with breast cancer. Suspended between life and death, Sharon begins to channel her fear and uncertainty about breast cancer into an artistic project. The creative process allows her to escape to another realm that is not confined by physical limitation, disease, child-rearing, teaching and running a home. Will this journey lead to acceptance, understanding and inner peace?
