About us

The Documentary Adventurers Club is a group for people who love watching and discussing theatrical "Dochouse" documentaries, that enrich, provoke, or feed the mind.
The documentary screenings will usually be in the Curzon cinema in Bloomsbury, which has a cinema screen dedicated to documentaries, "the Dochouse".

Open minded, thoughtful, curious documentary and ethics lovers welcome.

Events normally followed by drinks in a nearby Bloomsbury pub like The Lamb, and The Perseverance.

I plan to also schedule occasional Ethics Society Events in nearby Conway Hall.

"Coup 53" Documentary Adventure

You're invited to watch the 2019/2020, British documentary "Coup 53", a documentary about the 1953 Iranian coup d'etat to overthrow the democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh. This doc is timely and well reviewed.

This documentary won several awards at film festivals, including the Audience Award for Most Popular International Documentary at the Vancouver International Film Festival, and Best Documentary at the MIFF Awards in Italy, and an audience award at the Cinéma Vérité Festival in Iran. It also received a nomination for Best Documentary in the BIFAs, alongside a nomination for a Grierson Award for Best Feature Documentary at the 2019 BFI London Film Festival.

Doc is at 3.30pm, so let's meet for the film then go to the Lamb or Perseverance pub afterwards.
