Owen Susikind was a thriving , lively child who suddenly and inexplicably went silent at the age of three. For years after Owen remained unable to connect with other people or to convey his thoughts, feelings or desires.

Owen's parent tried everything they could to communicate with their son, but nothing worked, until they found a way to immerse themselves in the world of classic Disney animated films. Over time, through repeated viewings of Disney classics like THE LITTLE MERMAID and THE LION KING, Owen found useful tools to help him to understand complex social cues and to re-connect with the world around him.

LIFE, ANIMATED is an emotional, inspirational coming-of-age story that follows Owen as he graduates to adulthood and takes his first steps toward independence.

LIFE, ANIMATED is not released in the UK until December, but after we fell in love with the film at the Sundance London festival earlier this year we convinced the distributor to a let us show it to at Doc Club a few months early.
