Details
Let's go explore the trail with our furry friends. Heckscher State Park is a 1,657-acre state park on the shore of the Great South Bay at East Islip in Suffolk County, New York, USA.
Heckscher State Park has dog-friendly trails. (leash required)
Saturday 4/20/24 at 3 pm meeting at field 5 Towards the end of the parking lot at the entrance of the pet-friendly walking trail.
Does Heckscher Park allow dogs? YES!
There are over four miles of paved trails that run throughout the length of Heckscher State Park, providing excellent views and great exercise. Dogs are allowed on all of these paths, provided they're on a leash.
Dress weather-appropriate for you and your pups. Bring water and a portal bowl to have available for your dog during the walk. Because of the possible warmer temperatures and different levels of stamina for each dog, we're figuring about a 1-hour walk. But it's whatever goes in our group. We just want our friends, furry and non furry to come out socialize and get some exercise. See you there!
