Let's Take a Hike at Heckscher Park with our Pups!

Are you looking for a fun weekend adventure with your dog?

Join us on June 28, 2025, from 10–11 a.m. for a scenic, pet-friendly hike through Heckscher State Park, a stunning park located on the Great South Bay in East Islip, Long Island, NY.

Meet fellow pet parents and pups, and explore some of the 1,657 acres the state park has to offer!

We’ll meet at Field 4. Please dress appropriately for the weather for both you and your pup. We'll walk to the west side of Field 5 toward the pet-friendly trail. From there, depending on the weather and your dog’s stamina, we’ll walk for about an hour. If you want to continue or need to leave early, no worries. Do what’s best for you and your pet!

Does Heckscher Park allow dogs? YES!
Dogs are permitted on nature trails located in the undeveloped areas of the park. All dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
