Paws & Trails: Fire Island Lighthouse Park

Let's hit the trails! Join Dog Days Canine Connection at the Fire Island Lighthouse on Saturday, February 21, from 11 AM to 12 PM for a dog-friendly hike to the beach.

This is the paw-fect way to spend your Saturday morning meeting fellow pet parents, giving your pup some social time, or enjoying a scenic stroll to one of Long Island's most iconic landmarks.

Where to Find Us:
Meet us in the parking lot of Field 5 by the trail entrance to the Boardwalk. The host will be wearing t-shirts with the "Dog Days Pet Care" logo, so look out for it.

About the Hike:
We will start the hike at approximately 11 am, walking the Robert Moses Boardwalk to the Fire Island Lighthouse, then down to the beach, and walk back to Field 5.

Altogether, it should be close to 2 miles.

Depending on the weather and your dog’s stamina, we’ll walk the boardwalk, go to the lighthouse, and then down to the beach. If you choose to continue or need to leave early, no worries. Do what’s best for you and your pet!

What To Bring:

• Poop bags (let's keep the park/beach clean!)
• Fresh water for your pet and a water bowl
• Gloves or hand warmers (if needed)

Please dress appropriately!! It'll likely be very cold and windy down by the beach. Please wear warm clothes, bring hand warmers, and ensure your dog's comfort, too!

There are restrooms on-site. Please use them before we set off on the hike.
