Join us for the Independence Weekend Pack Walk—a refreshing, early‐morning hike designed to keep tails wagging! Below is everything you need to know:
📅 Date & Time
- Sunday, July 6, 2025
- Gather: 7:30 AM at the meeting spot
- Depart: Promptly at 7:40 AM
Why so early? We’re beating the heat to give our pups (and us!) the coolest, most comfortable start possible.
📍 Meeting Spot
- In front of the Chino Hills Community Park main gate entrance (this is next to the new parking lot construction and closest to the Eucalyptus loop entrance on Eucalyptus Ave)
- Free parking on the lot
🥾 Trail Details
- Route: Eucalyptus Loop—a gently rolling, well-maintained 3-mile circuit through (some) shaded groves and sweeping hills
- Terrain: Dirt; comfortable hiking shoes recommended
- Pace: Casual; we’ll stop frequently for water breaks and photo ops
👕 Attire & Gear
- Patriotic Flair: We encourage everyone to wear red, white, and/or blue to celebrate the weekend’s spirit together.
- Essentials to Bring:
- Sturdy leash (no retractable leads, please)
- Waste bags
- Your dog’s favorite collapsible water bowl and at least one bottle of water per person
- Light snacks for you and treats for your pup
- Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
🐶 Doggy Dos & Don’ts
- All pups must be non-reactive, up-to-date on vaccinations, and comfortable meeting new dogs in a group setting.
- Keep your dog at heel or beside you—no roaming ahead—and be ready to step aside for passing hikers.
- Please respect everyone’s space: if your dog is still making friends, give other handlers a heads-up.
What to Expect
- A friendly, supportive atmosphere where you and your fur baby can stretch your legs, soak in scenic views, and meet new pack members.
- Photos and videos may be taken and will be shared with attendees after the event
Come ready to make new human and doggy friends - it’s the perfect way to end your holiday weekend!
