Description:
Nuclear Lake was named by United Nuclear Corp, which operated a research facility there until 1973. Today Nuclear Lake has a reputation for being one of the most beautiful lakes along the entirety of the Appalachian Trail. Cat Rock is a rock out crop with a scenic vista overlooking New York and Connecticut. This hike will take us around Nuclear Lake and back for a round trip of 4.1 miles. This hike is almost entirely shaded and features several places for pouches to cool off so it makes a great summer hike.
