Training for the 86th Legislature!

This will be the first training in a series designed to prepare you to advocate effectively for bills that will reform the criminal justice system. You can apply these methods to any topic, but we will focus on CJ reform in our practice and examples. Learn how to make an office visit and present your position (special tips on how to get past the front desk and speak with the policy staff). Learn how to craft a one page "leave behind" for or against a bill. We will do an overview of the session calendar and the kinds of work that volunteers can do from home as well as in the capitol. This training will not cover "rules" or deep bill strategy, so stay tuned in the fall for the second in the series.
