Following our last walk, Aaron wrote: "Just got back from a lovely walk along the Bournemouth seafront in the company of fourteen engaging and amusing humanists. There were some deep ethical conversations and personal anecdotes and histories shared, with fun moments along the way. With agreement from the group we varied the course slightly, and unexpectedly ended up in a pub – how did that happen? So I now declare our walking season open, and look forward to seeing you all on future walks."

Walk description by Aaron
This walk starts in the beautiful, scenic, treelined avenue of Branksome Chine, following the stream as it meanders its way towards the sea. If you only have a mile in you, you could end here and catch the 50 bus to town. Otherwise, there's a loo stop here before I take you up our first incline of the day towards Pinecliff Gardens. This beauty spot is a gorgeous sun trap offering views out to sea in the pleasant surroundings of carefully planted greenery. If you're observant and still, you may see lots of tame sand lizards. From here, we zig zag down towards the beach where, after a short stretch, we venture into Canford Cliffs Chine, an often overlooked little beauty spot with a hidden away World War Two bomb shelter, now sealed up. Returning back down to the beach via another cliff zig zag, toning the legs and strengthening those heart muscles, we venture on towards the Jazz Café. Optional loo stop if needed. We may lose some walkers here with another option to leave us on the 50 bus, but at just 3 miles in, I know most of you will be wanting more. So why not continue on along the waterside, viewing Brownsea Island, Poole Harbour and the water craft often seen playing. Along here we drop down to a very quiet secluded path where the option to enjoy a sandwich presents itself. (Do bring your own). After a quick bite, taking in the views and promised blue skies, we have a little stretch of road through Lilliput before turning into Whitecliff Bay sports fields and towards Poole Park. If the weather stays fine we intend to take in the Poole Park Lake and gardens, before rejoining the bay and following the path round to the Quay. This walk is linear and involves a bus back. The walk won't be the same without YOU. Lovely friendly humanists make our walks, enhance the scenery, liven the conversation, and build friendships as we enjoy the lovely Dorset coast.
