A talk and discussion led by David Warden
What is “human flourishing” and can the philosophy of humanism help people to flourish? Millions of people around the world live in dire circumstances and so glib talk about “human flourishing” may mean little to them. For thousands of years, religions have promised an escape from human existence and suffering and the realisation of eternal bliss or nirvana. Is there a humanist equivalent of such a promise? Can humans find bliss in the middle of life with all of its setbacks and difficulties? David is a qualified humanistic therapist and he will offer some reflections on these challenging questions.
