The Dorset Darwin Feast & Evolutionary Psychology Talk
Details
Seats are selling fast for our legendary Darwin Feast and Talk event. Lunch starts at 1.15pm or soon after. Place strictly limited. This is a members and bona fide guests only event. Members pay an inflation-busting £5.00. Non-member guests pay £15.00 which can be converted to an annual membership of Dorset Humanists on request. Pay in advance or on the day. No shows may be charged. Talk-only option starts at 2pm or soon after.
Our volunteers will create a delicious feast with the following options: chicken curry, vegan curry, vegetarian lasagne, and shepherd's pie followed by a selection of puddings/desserts. Gluten-free options will be provided but please tell us your requirements. A selection of wines and soft drinks will be served. Please let us know if you would like to help us clear up so that we can vacate the hall by 4.30pm.
This year, our treasurer Daniel will present a talk on evolutionary psychology, exploring how human behaviour, emotions, and social instincts developed to solve ancestral challenges. He’ll show how these deep evolutionary patterns continue to influence our relationships, decisions, fears, and everyday motivations today.
