Holes Bay Nature Walk
Details
Holes Bay is a broad, peaceful inlet of Poole Harbour just north of the town centre, edged by salt marsh, mudflats, and shallow water. Despite nearby roads and industry, it has an open, spacious feel with wide skies and long views across the bay.
At low tide, extensive mudflats are revealed, attracting wading birds and wildfowl, while the shifting light on water and mud gives the landscape a quiet beauty. Paths run along much of the shoreline, offering easy walking and expansive views toward Upton Country Park and the Purbeck Hills beyond.
Less dramatic than the open coast but rich in atmosphere, Holes Bay is a place of tidal rhythms, birdlife, and reflective waterside calm.
