Christian nationalism has become a major concern for humanists in the United States, where powerful movements seek to reaffirm America as a fundamentally Christian nation. But what exactly is Christian nationalism – and does it pose a similar threat here in Britain? Just back from the World Humanist Congress in Ottawa, David Warden leads a discussion on why humanists are worried about its growing influence and whether American anxieties translate to the UK. In this interactive One Life Café event, we’ll examine what Christian nationalists actually believe, why the movement has grown, and how British humanists should respond.
