✅ Group Rules:
- Conduct:
Please be respectful to all members and organizers. Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or any other bigoted behavior will not be tolerated. - Attendance:
If you RSVP for an event but can’t make it, please update your RSVP as soon as possible to free up your spot. For events that require reservations or have long waitlists, cancellations made less than 24 hours before the event may count as no-shows. If you no-show for 3 events, you may be temporarily banned from attending future events. - This is not a dating group:
While connections may naturally form, this group’s primary focus is on building friendships and creating a positive social space. Unwanted advances or inappropriate behavior are not acceptable. If someone makes you feel uncomfortable, please reach out to an organizer - we're here to help. - Age & Eligibility:
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all events are 18+ only. This group is primarily intended for people in their 20s and 30s. There’s some flexibility for your plus-ones, but most events won’t be suitable for minors. - Alcohol & Behavior:
Some events may take place at venues that serve alcohol. Moderate drinking is fine, but excessive consumption or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated - especially if it endangers you or others.
---
Breaking any of the stated rules may result in either a temporary or permanent ban.
Our main goal is to create an atmosphere where all members feel included and welcome. Any behavior that impedes this goal will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Horror Movie Night: Child's Play 🔪
Winnipeg Cinemateque, 100 Arthur, Winnipeg, MB, CA📼 Get ready for a killer night at the movies 🔪
Join us for a horror movie meetup as we screen the original Child's Play (1988), the film that launched the iconic Chucky franchise and ruined the idea of “innocent” dolls.
This is one of those classic sleepover-era horror movies; the kind that my older cousins swore was the scariest thing ever, but somehow I never actually sat down to watch it myself. Now’s your chance to experience (or revisit) the birth of a horror legend and enjoy a little nostalgia with your nightmares.

Please be advised that Child's Play is a horror film and may contain scenes that are disturbing or unsettling to some viewers. If you are sensitive to horror content, we recommend reviewing the detailed content warning on the IMDb page before attending: IMDb Content Warning.5 attendees
Cult Movie Night: The Red Spectacles 🕶️
Winnipeg Cinemateque, 100 Arthur, Winnipeg, MB, CA🎥 Cult Movie Night: The Red Spectacles
Join us as we watch a local screening of The Red Spectacles (1987), the striking cult classic that launched director Mamoru Oshii’s Kerberos Saga and dropped audiences into a shadowy, off-kilter vision of Tokyo.
Come for the cyber-noir aesthetics, stay for the existential unease. Whether you’re already a fan of avant-garde Japanese cinema or just curious to experience something bold and different, join us for a night of stylish strangeness on the big screen.

Overview:
After a failed rebellion by his elite police unit, former detective Kōichi Todome flees Japan. Years later, he returns to Tokyo to fulfill a promise to his former comrades - only to find the city unrecognizable, uncanny, and increasingly surreal. As Todome searches for answers, reality itself begins to feel unstable, blurring the line between memory, politics, and dream logic.--------------------------------------
