Martin Finkel - Crossplatform multimedia .NET apps: Introduction to LibVLCSharp by VideoLAN
Are you a .NET developer interested in media (video and audio) and would like to have a reliable way to play media on any device? Do you wonder how to:
- Get playback support for most video formats in your app?
- Cast media to a Chromecast?
- Get reliable hardware decoding in a cross-platform with less battery/ CPU usage?
In that case, this presentation is for you! The key topics discussed during this session will be:
- Explain VideoLAN nonprofit’s mission and open source projects; including VLC
- Discuss best practices on how to consume C code from .NET in a cross-platform way
- Show LibVLCSharp’s .NET API, samples, and roadmap.
Martin is an open-source developer & book author (https://www.libvlcsharpthebook.com/preview) working remotely at VideoLAN/VideoLABS. The VideoLABS organization consists of members from the VideoLAN and VLC communities.
He is a core contributor to the LibVLCSharp open source library, which provides cross-platform audio and video API for .NET platforms based on VideoLAN’s LibVLC Library.
