Visual Studio and Apache Cordova with Martin Beeby
Details
Six years ago, PhoneGap (a.k.a. Apache Cordova) burst onto the scene with tremendous fanfare. It promised near-total code sharing across iOS, Android and Windows using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Since then, both the technology and the market have matured. We’ve learned some good lessons. We have better tools, such as Visual Studio 2015, a more diverse ecosystem and a deeper understanding of the architecture’s strengths and weaknesses. In this session, we’ll explore the state of hybrid app development and see how it will evolve in the future.
Martin is a Developer Evangelist for Microsoft. This basically means he spends most of my time talking to developers about new tools, languages and products MS are launching and getting their feedback. This is invaluable in ensuring MS create the best products they can and that developers get the most value out of them.
While he works across all MS technologies, his particular passion is HTML5. He regularly speaks & blogs about all aspects of HTML5 development and implementation.
Martin has written articles for, and been featured in, .NET Magazine, ZDNet, the Microsoft Developer Network, Ubelly.com and Windows Magazine.
