Runyon Canyon Urban Hike Loop
Details
This is a 420 friendly urban hike that blends nature, neighborhood, and optional city exploration. The pacing is unhurried and not a race to the finish line. This is a calm, respectful walk, and participants should be comfortable staying composed and aware in public spaces.
We’ll begin at Runyon Canyon Park, hike up to the Runyon Canyon Trailhead North, then loop back down via Outpost Drive to where we started. From there, we’ll head back uphill using Nichols Canyon Road to reach the northern trailhead once more. At that point, we can either end the walk or continue on towards Universal City Walk.
Agenda
1. Meet at Runyon Canyon Park entrance
2. Wait for others to arrive
3. Hike up Runyon Canyon up to the Northern Trailhead
4. Walk back down via Outpost Drive street
5. Return to the entrance
6. Walk back up via Nichols Canyon Road
7. Return to the Northern Trailhead
8. Wrap it up or continue towards Universal City Walk
To help coordinate day-of details, we’ll primarily use the Meetup event chat. A group text can be started optionally for those who are comfortable.
Important Notes
1. The Runyon Canyon hike can be busy so expect some crowds
2. Sections of Outpost Drive and Nichols Canyon Road do not have sidewalks - please stay alert.
3. The goal is to end near Universal City Walk, not necessarily go in, unless the group says otherwise
