About us
Founded by Nick Kuechler (Co-Owner of the Cinemagic Theater), Downhill Film Club is a twice monthly film club that meets at Gift Bar. Every meet up starts with a short presentation from one of Portland's many expert film nerds, followed by an open discussion. Films can be from any genre, but they'll always be something that recently played one of the awesome repertory (aka Revival) theaters in town.

Film Discussion - STALKER
Gift PDX, 1935 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR, USFresh off Star Wars, we're going to pivot to a very different kind of science fiction. Stalker is a deliberately paced meditation on... something. Is it about faith? hope? existential meaning? All of the above? No one quite agrees. But everyone (myself included) seems to agree that it's one of the greatest films ever made.
Start time is 7:00, and we'll wrap up around 8:00. After that, people tend to hang out and talk shop until late. It's always a good time.
STALKER plays between February 15 at the Cinemagic Theater, and is readily available for streaming and rental.
PS - Consider this a sneak peek. The Cinemagic hasn't technically announced this show or put tickets on sale yet. They should be up in the next week or so.
