What we’re about
Founded by Nick Kuechler (Co-Owner of the Cinemagic Theater), Downhill Film Club is a twice monthly film club that meets at Gift Bar. Every meet up starts with a short presentation from one of Portland's many expert film nerds, followed by an open discussion. Films can be from any genre, but they'll always be something that recently played one of the awesome repertory (aka Revival) theaters in town.

For the 3rd Wednesday of September, we'll be discussing Peter Wier's MASTER AND COMMANDER: FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD. Although it didn't receive much fanfare on release, Wier's film is ripe for rediscovery and reappraisal.
Start time is 7:00, and we'll try to wrap up discussion around 8:30. After that, people tend to hang out and talk shop until late. It's always a good time.
