Film Discussion - Star Wars: A New Hope

Hear me out folks - I think Star Wars may be one of the most discussable films we've done. From George Lucas' eclectic inspirations (ranging from pulp serials to the work of Akira Kurosawa) to the films massive technical achievement and the impact it had on decades of effects-heavy blockbusters. Beyond the film itself, there's a big conversation about Lucas's incessant tinkering with the film after release, and the questions that raises about the role of author and audience over time.

Start time is 7:00, and we'll wrap up around 8:00. After that, people tend to hang out and talk shop until late. It's always a good time.
