Welcome to our Downtown Decatur Mahjong and Game Social Club!
Join us for a variety of fun and social activities including Social, Cribbage Card Game, Cards Games, American Mahjongg, Recommended Boardgames, Learn to play chess, Paired Card Games (Canasta and Cribbage), Adult Co-ed MahJong and Whether you're a seasoned pro or new to the games, we invite you to come together for some friendly competition and camaraderie. ## What we’re about
Join us for a fun and friendly MahJong game with the-Downtown Decatur Adult Co-ed Mahjong Social Club! Whether you're a seasoned player or just curious about this classic game, all skill levels are welcome. Connect with members of the community in Decatur while enjoying a game that blends strategy, skill, and a bit of luck. MahJong is a great way to socialize, relax, and challenge your mind.
Don't worry if you're new to the game, our group is welcoming and happy to help newcomers. (See Lesson offering under events) Bring your tiles and racks, or simply come to learn and observe. We will have a table for beginners and more for Intermediate, advanced players.
The Venue is in Downtown Decatur at Cafe Lily every Friday, Lunch and Mahj.
We have 6 tables for 24 players and chairs for newbies that want to watch. Cafe Lily. 1130 Meet for lunch, Play at 1245ish to 245P max. We just show up to have lunch, a table for 12 is ready for us and we can add more if you RSVP! Please.
Our other times to play are every Weds at 6;30 PM at Bench Warmers in Decatur., 530P for group dinner and 630P Open Play. New on Aug 24th Sunday Play at Green Ginger from 2p to 5Pm.

We frequently have Intro to Mahjong Lessons, and Supervised Beginner Play the first Weds and Friday of the month. Check our Events. Open Play means you know how to play, as their in no supervised play or Lessons.
Please order your 2025 OFFICIAL Mahjong card: https://www.nationalmahjonggleague.org/store.aspx#
they are $14 or $15 for Large type. (We suggest Large Type Card) Only, order from the National Org, as many bootlegged cards out on amazon, Walmart and other places. New cards come out every end of March , which keeps the game interesting. We do have some extra cards from our recent order, just ask Whitney and Laura, they are for their Quarterly Beginner Lesson Series.
We will use Official 2025 Cards. Bring you 2025 card (We have xtra's you can borrow until your card comes). First meet up was April 11th, 2025.
We are asking members to pay your annual membership fee of $20, please use My Zelle. You can come any Play for free to check us out, as you have 15 days free if you are not sure you want to join. Membership fee's are $20 a year for new members.

The Friday group will be playing Tournament Style today-
In preparation of our mini Tournament in November , we’re offering some open play and timed practice. All are welcome and all levels are welcome! You may choose to participate in our challenge to complete 3 games in 55 minutes for practice. We’ll answer questions about the tournament and offer suggestions to improve your time and strategy! Play a laid back game or challenge yourself! It’s just for fun and to improve your skills!Friday Lunch at Cafe Lily at 1130am on Fridays, Play at 1245P- 3P.

3 tables will be set up for Intermediate/advanced players. 2 for Beginners.
Open to beginners and all levels of play, we will divide tables accordingly. and discuss lessons options of the beginners, video's etc. So maybe you watch the first time? 2 tables will be available for Beginners. See our discussions for more info for beginners.
Cafe Lily has become our Sponsor and is giving us the private room for free but they are requesting everyone try to spend or support the restaurant or tell you friends about their great food and service. They have small plates and appetizers, wine beer, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, great desserts all available.
We are reserving a table and hope you will join us for lunch in the main restaurant at 1130am. If you are not having lunch we will see you at 12:45P for play. Please do not bring any food or drink to the restaurant. Please tip our server's nicely for your teas, coffee, beverages and food.

We are limited to 24 players . More options and times for play and locations in Decatur will evolve in the fall We started our first meet up on 4/11/25. If you would like to Host a day and time of play somewhere else in Downtown Decatur let us know. We have options for you.
