Have you ever felt like the design voice gets lost in the room? In a world that often tries to push out the designer, how do you secure a seat at the table, build trust with cross-functional partners, and create products that truly matter?

In this session, Stephen Green, Lead Product Designer specializing in civic technology, will share his personal journey from waiting tables to designing 0→1 software for local governments. Along the way, he’ll discuss the influences that shaped his career, unveil frameworks and tips to foster influence and collaboration, and showcase how humility and strong relationships empower designers to ship meaningful work.

Stephen brings extensive experience guiding products in complex arenas such as government and higher education. His projects include tools that support mental health for public safety personnel and strengthen community well-being. A new dad, Stephen has now extended his product obsessions to parenting apps—applying a craft-focused, systems-thinking lens to everything he touches. He lives in New York’s Hudson Valley.

Join us to learn how to expand your impact, build lasting partnerships, and champion the design perspective.
