What we’re about

For those who find the Toronto Zen Center hard to access from downtown, this Zen Buddhist meetup offers a simple way to build a mindful, supportive community closer to home.

Zen can be solitary. Books and talks are helpful, but without community it’s easy to drift, over-intellectualize, or quietly fall off the path. This group exists to create a serious but grounded sangha—people who care about Zen practice and want to live it, not just study it.

This is not a meditation group. We meet to talk, reflect, and support each other in everyday life.

What we do:
Discuss Zen books and ideas (Suzuki, koans, modern Zen, other books/recommended series)
Talk about applying Zen to work, relationships, discipline, and desire
Share what’s helping and what’s getting in the way
Keep each other grounded and honest

What we don’t do:
No meditation or guided practice
No teachers, gurus, or hierarchy
No self-help or spiritual hype
This is a peer sangha, not a class.
