What we're about

Dream of being a daring adventurer in kick-ass magical realms? Wish you were an actual elf wizard or a brawny but soft-hearted half-orc? Then come play the world's greatest role-playing game - Dungeons and Dragons!

We run weekly events in Atlanta several nights a week. We try to make our games as inclusive as possible - our goal is to lower the barrier for entry for new folks to get involved in the hobby. New players don't need to bring anything - we provide free dice and character sheets for all first-timers, and all skill levels are welcome!

How it works:

When you show up you'll hear pitches for our regular low-commitment, beginner-friendly one-shot games. You'll pick the game that sounds most interesting to you, your DM and our volunteers can help you with the rules, and you'll start playing right away.

If you enjoy the event and want to come back you can join one of our ongoing campaigns.

For Dungeon Masters:

Anyone that wants to pitch and run a one-shot can just show up any night at 6:00PM to run it. You don't have to schedule with us or do anything in advance.

So if you want to meet new people, learn the rules of D&D, or just play some games and have some drinks, come out and join us every wee!

Hail and well met, adventurers - the call has gone out, and in-person events will commence once more!

Please note that Joystick is a 21+ venue after 8:00 PM. You must be vaccinated (or have recovered from COVID-19 recently enough to have antibodies) in order to attend.

Both new and inexperienced players are welcome! We'll teach you the rules, help you make a character, and give a free set of dice to all first-time players.

Dungeon Masters of all skill levels, using any system or setting or always welcome.

How It Works:

DM Happy Hour starts at 6:00 PM - meet your fellows, discuss your plans, and prepare devious plots against your unsuspecting players. At 7:00 PM, DMs pitch their games to players, who join on a first-come first-served basis. Games typically run from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

What You Need to Bring:

You don't need to bring anything to play - we provide dice, character sheets, and helpful advice for all new players!

If you want to run a game you'll need to bring whatever you usually use to run a session - books, maps, minis, etc. If you're running a system other than 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons, you'll need to provide character sheets (and rules instructions) for your players.

See you soon, adventurers!
