DUDC July Meeting: The Mangrove Adoption Program with Terence Ching

Details

Down Under Divers Club (DUDC) is the largest and longest running independent scuba club in North Carolina, and supports all local dive shops. The DUDC has a monthly meeting at Dave & Busters in Cary, with topics on some aspect of diving, travel, safety or our water environment. You do not have to be a member to come!

We are excited to have Terence Ching, President of the Curacao Outdoor Industry Alliance (COIA) join us for our July meeting, to share with us their mission, vision, and their project 'The Mangrove Adoption Program.'

"Our project (the Mangrove Adoption Program) aims to restore mangrove ecosystems in order to build climate-change ready, healthy and resilient coastal ecosystems which will buffer coastal communities from extreme weather and other climate events. By harnessing the power of community, environmental expertise, and innovative techniques, we are committed to revitalizing degraded mangrove areas to create resilient coastal habitats and communities. Our approach involves not only planting stock, but also raising awareness about the importance of these invaluable ecosystems while promoting sustainable coastal management practices and activities."

Join us on July 8th at Dave & Buster’s in Cary. We’ll gather starting at 6:30 PM so you have time to order food, drinks, and mingle with fellow divers. The meeting will officially begin at 7:15 PM with announcements, followed by the presentation from our guest speaker. We look forward to seeing you in person! If you can’t attend, don’t worry—you can still participate via Teams and be part of the action. https://teams.live.com/meet/9398865042253?p=HyJwRofcS73o6Rr8
