Down Under Divers Club (DUDC) is the largest and longest running independent scuba club in North Carolina, and supports all local dive shops. The DUDC has a monthly meeting at Dave & Busters in Cary, with topics on some aspect of diving, travel, safety or our water environment. You do not have to be a member to come!

For our April meeting, we’re charted for adventure as Axe Historian and scuba diver Michael McBride joins us to share his knowledge of sharp and sunken objects. Join us for an engaging and eye-opening presentation filled with history, discovery, and adventure!

“Michael McBride is an author who writes primarily about the history of the manufacturing of 19th and 20th century axes here in the United States. As a diver, his interests in history occasionally overlay into his love of diving, leading to the publication of the book “Histories of Twelve Frequently Visited Shipwrecks of the Wilmington, NC, Area”. Michael enjoys wreck diving, wreck wildlife, and wreck and artificial reef conservation, and can often be found clearing fishing line and debris from Carolina wrecks during the warmer months. He currently lives in Wallace, North Carolina, with his two cats.”

We’ll start gathering at 6:30 PM so you can eat, drink, and connect with fellow divers. We’ll kick off the meeting at 7:15 PM with announcements, then hear from our guest speaker. We hope to see you there in person! Can’t make it? You’re welcome to join us on Teams.
