Weekly Buddhist Meditation Service, Topic: Buddhism & Psychedelics

Details
"For some Buddhists, experiences of selflessness induced by hallucinogens are tools for practice. But others see distraction and even danger." (Lefferts, Gabriel. "Psychedelics’ Buddhist Revival", Tricycle Magazine, July 2018). Tonight, we'll explore this very topic, with exploration itself as our intent. We'll discuss current findings from the academic perspective, we'll hear from sangha members' direct experience (under professional guidance), and look to classical teachings for insight and consideration.
Join members the Dragonfly Sangha each Monday evening at 6:30pm in the undercroft of Mount Calvary Episcopal Church for a weekly Buddhist meditation service as we seek to find peace in our hearts, connect with the world around us, and discover meaning during challenging times.
Each service includes a brief liturgy and talk based on the teachings of the Buddha, followed by an offering of incense and meditation.
Open to all faiths and backgrounds, join us as we come together in celebration of inner peace, loving-kindness, joy, and compassion.
