Study 2-3 looks in the creative studio of Drawing Cabaret Couture with host & set designer Matthew Lawrence. Pose lengths will vary from 3-5-10-15min long. These un-tutored sessions are to inspire your creative approach to drawing the figure in exciting new fashion (not the ready to wear kind, more haute couture!) with considered set design, lighting and soundtracks to indulge the senses in a 2hr window of escapism. Materials & boards provided. All people of the earth are welcome - brand new to drawing or well practiced, come and share the fashion editorial style life drawing experience.
About the collection:
"Brave New World is a novel that dates back to 1931 and the foundations of this project. Aldous Huxley portrays a society ruled by technological advances such as reproductive technology, sleep-learning and classical conditioning laying out the foundation of an expected future on an ever-growing technological society. Even though this is a dystopian perspective, I believe the fundamentals of this society are within us all. I have been exploring the way in which my mind conditions my present and confirms my beliefs, turning upside down an apparent dystopia into an inspiring utopia.
Fashion by definition is in constant change, which is dictated by the worldviews of the present time in which that trend coexists. That worldview arose from an envisioning of the future, and that vision of the future arose from changes in technology.
This project is a very personal retrospective of my self and the way in which ambition and passion towards the forthcoming inform my design practice. I believe augmented reality, digital clothing and big data will re-design the tomorrow. However, the algorithms of these have a tendency to oversimplify matters." Ana Cordoba Crespo
