Drawing in the city, Outdoor Sketching session @Viktoria Park.

Come join us for the third outdoor sketching session, drawing in the city. After a lovely session last time we continue to draw out and about! A chance to escape everyday life and be a wanderer, diving into drawing the world around us in all its shapes and forms. From people, places, to buildings.

This will be a semi-guided session, we will start with a short intro with a couple of exercises to focus on before exploring and drawing in the area. Then we meet up again for a short break halfway and for an intro to the next exercise. Here we also have a chance to share feedback and discuss work. At the end of the session we have another chance to meet up, share work and discuss ideas, as well as have some feedback. For this session, we will focus on exercises on building space and layers with dry and wet mediums- a chance to explore some exciting new techniques combining mixed media. Drawing the cityscape and nature in the park will be perfect for this!

This drawing session is for everyone, for all levels of drawing and artistry. It's a chance to enjoy drawing outside, revive and learn some new techniques and meet new people. The session will be led by artist Emily Morey a painter and drawer from London. Emily has taught drawing and painting workshops in Berlin for a few years now, and at Burnt Sienna art school in Berlin. Emily studied with a variety of professors at the Royal Drawing School in London and painting at Brighton university. She is excited to share her experiences and techniques of drawing outside as well as to draw with you!

For our third session, we will be drawing around Viktoria park. The weather is forecast sunny and around 12 degrees so please still bring warm clothes. This session is perfect for capturing park life and cityscapes/rooftops.

WHEN?

Meeting at 11:00, the session will run till 13:00 on Saturday 26th October.

WHAT TO BRING?

Please bring your own materials.

Recommended: A sketchbook with paper 90-200gsm (thick enough to hold wet medium), a pencil, a ballpoint pen or brush pen and an eraser.

To do the colour and mixed media exercises please bring:

Dry medium: 3 choices of dry colour medium, such as oil pastel, coloured pencil or coloured chalk etc.

Wet medium: 3 choices of wet colour medium, such as watercolour, gouache or acrylic medium. (Bring tissue for brushes and a water pot).
