Learn to shade and render complex forms on the human figure in graphite, working with one model and the same pose for six sessions. Gaby will guide you from capturing accurate gesture and proportion, to understanding light physics and gradients to render realistic volumes. This class is suited for intermediate and advanced artists. Demos and individual critiques daily.

Week 4: Rendering – The Physics of Light and Form
Week 5: Rendering – Continuing to Render the Form
Week 6: Rendering – Finalizing Form

Materials:
Strathmore 400 series Drawing Paper, smallest 9”x12” or largest 18”x24”
4H, 2H, H, HB pencils (Staedler brand recommended)
Kneaded eraser
Tombow mono zero eraser, round tip (highly recommended)
