Upcoming Meetups

What we're about

Public Group

We currently hold three Meetups in cooperation with the LARA (London Atelier of Representational Art).

Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30: Life Drawing | 2 hour pose

Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30: Life Drawing | Quick poses

Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30: Portrait Drawing | 2 hour pose

These Meetups take place in the 'Figure Room' of LARA, a world-class atelier. Easels, drawing boards and clips are supplied. These Meetups benefit from using the facitilites of LARA's full-time students. The lighting on the model is top of the range professional photographic lights.

*How much does it cost?*

Each session is £10 for the 2 hours.

Latecomers are welcome.

It is helpful to us if you RSVP but you can equally just turn up at the door (first come, first served.)

*Where is LARA?*

LARA London is located centrally in London, a two minute walk from Clapham North Underground Station (Northern Line). Stockwell Underground Station (Victoria Line) is a ten minute walk away. Clapham High Street Overground station is a five minute walk away. There is a stop for the 88 bus to Trafalgar Square (Oxford Circus and Camden) by Clapham North.

*Who should join?*

We would love to see anyone who has a passion for drawing! From absolute beginner to absolute master all are welcome to these untutored sessions. How you spend the session is entirely up to you.

For those interested in LARA as a school these drop-in sessions are a great way to get a feel of the atelier. Our part and full-time students often stay for the evening sessions.

*Why choose life drawing at LARA London?*

LARA is an inspiring venue for life drawing. Walking through the school you will see the drawing and paintings of current students on the easels and past students and tutors on the walls!

LARA has a lovely atmosphere which is created by the enthusiasm of our students. Our community of students, alumni and returning workshop students means a great deal to us.

Our sessions are drop-in - you can pay on the door subject to availability - so you can be flexible with when you can attend. Equally, we have three varied sessions a week, so if you'd like to get serious about drawing here is your chance.

*What do you need to bring?*

Whichever drawing materials and paper/sketchbook suit you best. Feel free to also bring paints!
