Drink and Draw: Dayton - Your Father Smells of Elderberries

Father's Day Approaches. What better time to reflect on how strange medieval European art was. Not only was it common to just turn any thing into monsters if they didn't understand, but they also could not draw cats for equally perplexing reasons.
I am not sure how well a reference hunt for this will be, but I will try to find something with a less reductive explanation than I have been giving. When it comes to what we should be draw, that can be as mysterious as the reason that a monk decided to illustrate rabbits brutalizing pilgrims with a mace in a book about herbal medicine.
