Is there a crisis of awe?

This will be a discussion of the following piece, which I very highly recommend reading: https://www.astralcodexten.com/p/the-colors-of-her-coat
Over the past few centuries, trade and innovation have allowed for mass production of once-rare goods, art forms, etc., to the point that now we take many of them for granted. We don't, for instance, give much thought to the fact that the beans, milk, and flavorings in an everyday cup of coffee were sourced from various faraway countries, but when these first became available they would have naturally been awe-inspiring. In essence then, as each technology has become democratized, so has, for the most part, its associated feelings of awe.
Continuing with this argument, generative AI has more potential than anything before to strip away the awe in art and ideas, and to a degree already has done so. It is becoming increasingly more important to ponder this question specifically and look for individual and/or society-wide solutions to it.
* Do you agree with the author? Is there really a crisis of awe?
* Is awe more of a function of grand, singular experiences, or appreciating variety on a smaller scale?
* How can we as individuals cultivate more meaning in our everyday lives? How about on a society-wide scale?
* Are there any truly unsolvable human problems or sources or meaning that cannot be affected by the presence of technology? Where does gamification fit into this?
