Hi, everyone!

I recently made an Italian girlfriend and visited her in Taranto, Southern Italy.
That trip made me realize something very simple:
I want to learn Italian from scratch.
Since my girlfriend is Italian, I’d also love to make new Italian friends and connect with Italian speakers here in Japan. So I thought:
Why not create a casual skill-swap meetup?
I can teach you basic programming and Linux skills, and in return, you can help me learn simple Italian conversation, pronunciation, useful phrases, and cultural tips.
This event is for people who are interested in either:

  • learning basic Python programming
  • learning how to use Linux from scratch
  • helping someone learn Italian
  • meeting tech-minded people in a casual, friendly environment

## What I Can Teach You

### Basic Python Programming

We’ll cover beginner-friendly Python topics such as:

  • variables
  • print statements
  • basic calculations
  • if statements
  • loops
  • simple functions
  • writing and running your first Python script

No programming experience is required. This is for complete beginners.

### Linux from Scratch

I can also help you understand Linux basics, including:

  • what Linux is
  • how to use the terminal
  • basic commands
  • file and folder navigation
  • installing simple tools
  • understanding why Linux is useful for programming

You don’t need to be a Linux expert. Curiosity is enough.

## What I’d Like to Learn

In exchange, I’d love help with beginner Italian, such as:

  • basic greetings
  • pronunciation
  • simple daily conversation
  • useful travel phrases
  • Italian culture
  • how to sound more natural when speaking

You don’t need to be a professional teacher. Native Italian speakers, Italian learners, or anyone who enjoys Italian language and culture is welcome.

## What to Bring

Please bring one of the following:

  • Windows laptop
  • MacBook
  • Linux laptop
  • Chromebook

A laptop is strongly recommended because this is a hands-on event.

## Preparation

Before the event, I’ll share simple instruction documents through Google Drive so attendees can prepare in advance.
The documents will include beginner-friendly steps, so don’t worry if you’re completely new to programming or Linux.

## Event Style

This is not a formal class.
It’s a casual skill exchange where we help each other, learn together, and hopefully make some good connections.
Come for the Python.
Come for the Linux.
Come for the Italian.
Or come because “Ciao World” sounds better than “Hello World.”
Beginners are very welcome.
