π Holiday Cheer? Not So Fast! When Traditions and Emotions Collide
Details
π Holiday Cheer? It's Complicated! π¦
Part 1 of a 2-Week Series
The holidays are supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year. But what if you're feeling a little more bah humbug than ho ho ho?
From Halloween through Valentine's Day, the holiday season can feel like a marathon of family gatherings, traditions, expectations, memories, and emotions. Even in the best of times, it can be a lot!
When you're navigating separation, divorce, relationship challenges, or other major life changes, the holidays can feel especially complicated. The traditions you once treasured may feel different, familiar celebrations may bring unexpected sadness, and even happy moments can stir up conflicting emotions.
The holidays don't have to be all merry or all miserable. There's room for bothβand everything in between!
---------------------------------
In the first of our two-part series, we'll explore:
- π Why holiday traditions and expectations can trigger powerful emotions
- β€οΈ How memories, loss, and changing relationships influence our experiences
- π Why family gatherings, social events, and special moments can feel so complicated
- π§ How emotional triggers can lead to runaway thoughts and reactions
- β¨ Ways to recognize what you're feeling without letting those feelings take over
We'll also make room to reflect on what we're looking forward to, what we're dreading, and what might be different this year.
---------------------------------
Next week, November 11: Holiday Survival Guide: Less Stress, More Joy, New Traditions! We'll shift from understanding the challenges to finding practical ways to navigate them.
---------------------------------
You don't have to have it all figured out. Come for the insights, stay for the connection. β€οΈ
