Public Lughnassadh Ritual

At Lughnassadh we celebrate the heigWe will be in the gazebo, near the southwest corner. If you park in the lot on Prime Ave, near the art museum, it's a little bit back and off towards the right. Note that this will be at Hecksher Park, in Huntington, not Hecksher STATE park, in Islip. ht of summer and the beginning of the grain harvest. Let us come together to acknowledge each other's hard work and contributions, and appreciate what we harvest in our own lives.

Join Paumanok Island Protogrove as we celebrate Lughnassadh as a community! We will be honoring Slavic gods in this ritual. Our deity of the occasion will be Dazhbog, god of the sun.

All people of good will are welcome! Family participation is encouraged.

We will meet at 1:00 pm for a pre-ritual briefing. The rite will begin promptly at 1:30 pm. It will be held outdoors.

Please feel free to bring personal offerings for the ancestors, nature spirits, and deities. We will be in a public park, so if you bring alcoholic beverages as offerings, please remember to put them in a nondescript container. We will also provide materials for offering.
